📍Premier Residences Phu Quoc Emerald Bay: An Honest Review. (2024.)

Privacy Policy

WONDERING WHETHER STAYING AT PREMIER RESIDENCES PHU QUOC EMERALD BAY IS WORTH IT? HERE IS MY HONEST REVIEW.

Phu Quoc is a stunning tropical island that lies in the breathtaking Gulf Of Thailand. Although situated closer to Cambodia, it actually belongs to Vietnam and is the country’s largest island. This beautiful place is rapidly gaining popularity as one of the nations’s best-emerging travel destinations, thanks to its blend of natural beauty, cultural landmarks, and new and world-class tourist attractions, making it an increasingly must-visit place in Vietnam’s long list of incredible places to explore.

Taking advantage of its rising status, the island offers a wide range of fantastic accommodation options for those wanting to come and see what this island is all about. And if high-end, all-inclusive luxury in a remote seaside setting is what you’re looking for, Premier Residences Phu Quoc Emerald Bay is a fantastic resort to consider. During our month-long holiday in Vietnam, my boyfriend and I had the pleasure of staying here for one night and loved many aspects of it. So, without further ado, let’s dive into our detailed and honest review of why this resort is an excellent place to stay along with some things we didn’t think worked to its advantage.

Premier Residences Phu Quoc Emerald Bay: Review Overview.

Premier Residences was a stunning resort featuring gorgeous high-end modern luxury design elements and spacious rooms featuring thoughtful layouts to overlook the stunning Emerald Bay and a multi-tier pool so grandeur-esque, that it’s easily the most exquisite configuration I’ve ever seen.

Is Premier Residences Phu Quoc Emerald Bay Worth Visiting?

Yes.

The Premier Residences resort in Emerald Bay is a fantastic choice of accommodation for those seeking to indulge in the luxury and grandeur of an upscale beachside resort.

Although the reception lacked warmth and welcoming design elements and the staff, while friendly and helpful, were the most challenging to communicate with compared to our other stays on Phu Quoc Island, the rest of the resort was wonderful.

The rooms are gorgeous, especially the stunning bathroom, and the thoughtful layout to capitalise on the view meant not only seeing it from our balcony but also from the comfortable king-sized bed.

The resort also had excellent facilities, particularly the breathtaking swimming pools, which have the most exquisite set-up I’ve ever seen. Meanwhile, the classic wooden swing by the ocean on the private beach further elevated that feeling of remote beachside luxury. It was sublime.

However, the food served at the restaurant for the breakfast buffet could use more improvement, but it was included with the stay, so overall, this accommodation was a solid choice and a very memorable stay.

  • It was also pretty dark when it was overcast as they are lit by natural light, especially the lower levels.
  • Plus, it was a long walk from reception to get to our room.
The top level was okay, but the lower levels were dark. There was also no air con.

General Pool & Private Beach.

Rating: 9 out of 10.

✔️ Pros.

  • Huge multi-level pool with differing depths and hidden enclaves. I loved this because it made it feel more private, rather than everyone being lumped together.
  • The pool also featured a poolside bar, lush greenery, plenty of deck chairs, statues and tile artwork on the bottom. All this combined made it the most beautiful and elaborate pool set-up and layout I’ve ever seen.
  • The kids have access to the three slides!
  • The resort’s private beach is beautiful and has a swing!
  • Clubhouse means having dinner by the pool.

Cons.

  • The poolside bar wasn’t open whenever we were there.
  • The three slides are only for kids.
  • My boyfriend didn’t like the multi-tiered pool because it meant having to get in and out to go to the other pools.
  • Slightly confusing layout.
  • No hot tub.
  • We couldn’t go snorkelling because the ocean was sadly too choppy.
The swimming pool is gorgeous.
And slides for the kids.

Mercato Restaurant.

7:00 AM – 10:00 AM – Breakfast.

✔️ Pros.

  • As ALL – Accor Live Limitless Membmer, the buffet breakfast was included.

The restaurant was beautifully designed.
But the food was slightly lacking.

Playground Social Hub & Bar.

Rating: 7.5 out of 10.

✔️ Pros.

  • Spacious, with a nice layout and design.
  • Gaming area.

Cons.

  • Overly spacious with sparse furniture made it feel a little barren.
The bar in the Playground Social Hub.

Other Resort Pros & Cons.

Rating: 9.5 out of 10.

✔️ Pros.

  • It has its own beautiful European village, with restaurants, shops, massage parlours and other businesses

Cons.

  • The village is 95% empty.
  • The reception felt futuristic but in a very dated way. The execution of it wasn’t very good. It was spacious, but sparsely furnished, and with very muted colours which made it feel cold and uninviting. It doesn’t have the most welcoming atmosphere.
The reception was a bit drab.
The village was cool but mostly empty.

Staff.

Rating: 9.5 out of 10.

✔️ Pros.

  • The staff were friendly, attentive and helpful.

Cons.

  • We found this hotel to be one of the most challenging hotels we stayed at in Vietnam to communicate with the staff, but they were always polite showcasing that welcoming hospitality the country is so famous for.

Location.

Rating: 8 out of 10.

✔️ Pros.

  • Beautiful location right next to the beach in southern Phu Quoc.
  • Close to Sunworld Hon Thom Aquatopia Park, home to the country’s best water park in our opinion and the world’s longest cable car which goes over the spectacular An Thoi Peninsula. The cable car boarding area is at Sunset Town, a gorgeous place modelled to have classic Italian architecture!
  • Also nearby to several other of the island’s most notable attractions, including Phu Quoc Prison and Ho Quoc Temple.

Cons.

  • A 25-minute drive away from the Phu Quoc International Airport & 40 minutes from the island’s main town, Duong Dong.
Sunworld Hom Thom’s incredible Aquatopia Pa rk.

Overall Impressions.

Rating: 8 out of 10.

Overall, Premier Residences Emerald Bay was a fantastic stay that we thoroughly enjoyed, but there were a few areas where we thought it could improve.

Starting with the positives, the room was sublime, as was the fact that we could watch the sunrising over the bay from our balcony or even more impressively from our bed. But walking through the halls to get the rooms was humid and unpleasant.

I also loved the pool and how elaborately complex it was, and the private beach with the swing was beautiful and idyllically peaceful. The main restaurant was stunning, but the food served at the buffet breakfast could have been improved and been more clear for people with allergies and certain dietary requirements.

We also loved that there was a resort-only village that we could roam around, but it was also odd how little of it was occupied. Maybe in a few years, it’ll be bustling.

The biggest downside for me was the reception. The vibe of it felt so unwelcoming. Luckily the friendly staff made up for it, but the language barrier was a lot more noticeable here than it was for other places we stayed in Vietnam.

Still, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay, despite our handful of small grievances.

I loved the pool, but my boyfriend didn’t as much.
The beach was beautiful.
The restaurant was nice but food could use work.
We liked the village, but not that it was empty.

Premier Residences Phu Quoc: FAQs.

Does Premier Residences Phu Quoc Have An Airport Shuttle?

Premier Residences Emerald Bay does offer shuttle bus services to and from Phu Quoc International Airport. However, they only comes once every two hours between 6.30am and 9.00pm. A good alternative is to use the Grab app and order a vehicle to pick you up, which is much more flexible and waiting time is generally only a few minutes.

Is Phu Quoc Worth Visiting?

Phu Quoc is a fantastic destination that no visitor to Vietnam should miss as the country’s largest island is rapidly gaining popularity, thanks to the incredible places it has to visit, such as Vinwonders Phu Quoc, the nation’s largest theme park, and Sunworld Hon Thom, an incredible waterpark that requires a ride on the world’s longest cable car to reach. Of the eight theme parks and water parks my boyfriend and I visited, these two were, by far, our favourites.

But that’s not all. Phu Quoc also offers a plethora of excellent tours and activities. One of the highlights is snorkelling around the islands of the An Thoi Archipelago, which is notably one of the best spots in the country to do so.

How To Get To Phu Quoc Island?

Flying is the easiest and most convenient way to reach the stunning island of Phu Quoc. Flights depart from major Vietnamese cities such as Ho Chi Mini City, Hanoi and Da Nang via Vietnam Airlines, Bamboo and Vietjet.

While the latter is cheaper, I don’t recommend Vietjet as we encountered numerous issues, such as long delays and cancellations, which adversely affected our trip.
